Preferred solution: To not add rules and extra players to games that I’ve already been established for a long time, and not discriminating against people because of their age

I am trying to cancel my membership. Which YMCA charge me for the month of September.
I requested the refund. In that regard, the manager Kevin said he cannot refund it, but he will request corporate to help us. Corporate never replied him he sent 3 emails on my behalf. Then Kevin said to contact the corporate.
Which I already did, they said they don't deal with the refunds and billing issues. Contact the YMCA Pembroke Pines since they are the corporate associates. So it seems like both offices are bouncing me to the other office.
Haven't heard anything from any place yet. Not from the manager neither from the corporate office.

Verified ReviewerLoss of Enrollment Spot
I've enrolled my children with the YMCA aftercare program for years! I have never had to double check or confirm my enrollment!
I'm livid at this point! I enrolled my child in April when the flyer came out at the locations. There was no glitch on my end and all seemed to be well until August arrived and I didn't get an email requesting me to upload my child's shot & immunization record. I called to inquire just to be told that my child is not showing in the system as being registered!
I sat in the school parking lot and enrolled my child myself!
I have NO backup plan in place because I've only used the Y. I've reached out to my local location and have been promised a return call and I have yet to receive one!
- Peace of mind
- Safe place
- Low enrollment cap
Preferred solution: Make an exception please! My enrollment history speaks for itself.

The YMCA has not contacted me. I am seriously disappointed.
Poorly with replies from Sam Lalevee at YMCA Customer Service Center and Brittany at Fulfillment @ YMCA that were unsatisfactory responses.
They have discounts for Active Military, but not for those who have given their service and sacrifice to our country, and who live on a fixed income. The YMCA uses the word "INCLUSIVE" in their promo literature, but are anything but inclusive when it comes to our Veterans of yesteryear who need a helping hand these days.
YMCA, please change your policy to accommodate those who will benefit from your benevolence the way you have benefitted from their years of service and honor. Thank you.
Regards,
George C.Caldrone - US Army Retired.
- Nice people who are helpful
- Ymca lack of military retiree discount
Preferred solution: YMCA Policy Change on behalf of the Military Retiree.
User's recommendation: Always make mention that our Military Vets should always be taken care of as a thanks for the Freedoms and liberties we enjoy today.

Currently boiler for warm water pool not working. So far this year many dates have been canceled.
No compensation no refunds or credit. Many things need to be changed, replaced , or repaired. Many flying nats in shower area and mold on ceiling and on ceiling shower curtains (which dont cover shower area correctly ) and bathing suit spinner gone for the women. Extra hooks would be nice to hang our dry towels and clothes when we shower.
In the past we had late lifeguards or pool was closed due to lack of lifeguards. I am aware each ymca is independent and I was told to write a certified letter to the board of directors but isnt there something or someone who walks around and notices or hears ir inspects . We pay 45 and 49 and other pay more or less for our fees which get taken out asap and yet we pay for a facility that is below standards. No silver sneakers no one seems concerned about our input except the front desk which is Veronica and Josie but they gave no control or power to fix out situation.
Please guide me and others on what we can de besides the land board of directors.
There are many other issues I am forgetting but many of us feel the same and have other issues and concerns. Please respond
Sincerely ,
Yvonne

My name is George Caldrone, US Army Retired living in the Raleigh NC area. Today 8/30/22 I tried to join the Kerr YMCA and asked at the customer service desk if there was a Military Retiree discount, or joining fee waiver?
No, was the answer and that it was only for Active Military personnel. I cannot believe that the YMCA in our American communities do not wave or give a Military Retiree discount. How does the YMCA justify discounting all the contributions in the way of service and sacrifice that our Military Veterans have paid and given to date? How can the YMCA use the term "Inclusive" when Military Retirees are excluded?
Give our Veterans the chance to better their physical health and not be forced to pay the Joining fee, at the minimum.
Military Retirees live on a fixed income and need to know that the YMCA cares enough to help.
Regards, George C. Caldrone - US Army Retired
Preferred solution: Military Retiree discount or Joining fee dropped.
